Students have long been an integral part of what goes on here. There have been many who have stayed, but many more who have come to the parties and BBQ's with those who have stayed. There have also been those that we have met whilst going out with the ones we know in London, and meeting many more.

If you have never had students of an age older than 14, then you are sorely missing out. They are fun, witty and often times hard work, as you try and converse, and understand each other. We now have multiple dictionaries, thesauruses, idiom and phrase books in the collection here used to educate our foreign friends in the more street type speech used in everyday speech and taken for granted by us. Have you ever tried to learn a foreign language? We have all sat in class when we were at school, and spent hours pouring over text books full of "correct" French or German, Italian or Spanish... but have you ever noticed just how far removed from normality this grammatically correct rubbish is? Go to Spain for instance, speak the Spanish you learn at school and university, and the locals all know you have no idea what you are going on about. The language of the street, and the historically taught language is always different. Get a student and have some fun with them, and tell them the REAL words or phrases used today in English, not the ones from yesterday.
